Imagine twenty-one people from different backgrounds meeting for
the first time in a virtual space: What comes out of it? What is the
goal?
The ESC on-arrival training organized by the organization Ser
Joven, which lasted four days, focuses on a type of informal
education, relying on a programme-non-programme punctuated by
confrontations, debates, continuous exchange of ideas, games,
creating a multicultural and interactive context, and last but not
least, a light-hearted one.
The days of the training were intense, and although they were very
useful for learning important information and technical aspects such
as Cigna, Youthpass, and so on, the aspect that intrigued me the
most, that shook me inside, was the way in which the training
accompanied us "to the encounter with the other": it was now
laughing and playing, now reflecting, that each one of us
approached the life and culture of the other, with respect, like
children curious to know.
Spontaneity was the matrix of this entire training: we all had the
opportunity to expose ourselves, to express our opinions, to uncover
ourselves, our background, in a space of listening and sharing. In the
end, what emerged was this: despite being guys from different
backgrounds, different ages, despite having different dreams and
hopes, we are united by one thing: finding our dimension, our piece
of the world.
And the training has served to remove doubts, to clarify, but more
importantly it has helped us to have a greater awareness of who we
are, where we started from and lastly, to ask ourselves questions
such as
"Where do I want to go from here?"

Martina
